  • M.D.M.A is a synthetic empathogen–entactogen (meaning “touching within” or generating empathy) known for inducing feelings of emotional openness, connection, safety, and well-being. While it is not classified as a “classic psychedelic,” it can reliably produce a profound altered state—marked by heightened body awareness and deep connection to one’s intuition or Inner Healing Intelligence (as some traditions describe the higher self). It is often described as a gentle, heart-opening, and compassionate medicine.

A growing body of clinical research highlights the therapeutic potential of M.D.M.A for conditions such as PTSD, depression, and anxiety (including social and end-of-life-related distress). One key mechanism involves temporarily reducing activity in the amygdala, the brain’s fear center, which allows individuals to revisit and process traumatic experiences with more clarity, safety, and integration.

    Onset: 30–60 minutes (oral)

    Duration: 3–5 hours

  • An optional alternative we have available for this retreat is 3-MMC. 3-MMC is a synthetic empathogen or entactagon of the cathinone class with effects very similar to those of M.D.M.A. It increases the salience of positive emotions, while increasing tolerance for negative emotions. It inhibits shame and denial, making it possible to shine light on deeply suppressed or hidden memories.

When used therapeutically and/or relationally (in our group container for example), it helps voice or externalize the things we’ve been holding in for a very long time.

Onset of action: 30-60 minutes (orally)
    Duration: 2-4 hours

  • Used ceremoniously among different cultures like the Olmecs, Izapan, Maya, Toltecs, Aztecs and Incas, when approached with intention and reverence, Cacao is a beautiful heart opening medicine. It gently guides us back into our bodies, opening us to our emotional landscape and helps us key in on our intention before going into the MDMA journey.

Facilitators

  • Noor is an Iraqi-Canadian trauma-informed breathwork facilitator trained in psychedelic-assisted therapy. She is dedicated to promoting mental health awareness, harm reduction, and psychedelic therapy among marginalized communities. As the Co-Founder of the Arab Psychedelic Society, she is committed to bridging the gap between Arab communities and psychedelics through culturally sensitive education, research, community support, and therapeutic interventions.

Noor’s journey was deeply influenced by her own mental and physical health challenges, having to come to terms with the impact of a dysregulated and sensitive nervous system. After conventional treatments proved ineffective, she turned to holistic modalities and discovered the transformative power of breathwork and psychedelics. These practices improved her well-being and motivated her to share these valuable tools with others and advocate for their integration into her communities. Noor is driven by a profound desire to unite the fields of therapy, breathwork, and psychedelics, aiming to create a holistic and synergistic approach that integrates these healing practices.

You can learn more about Noor on her Instagram page.

  • Leen has been an avid explorer of the mind through the intentional use of psychedelics for over 12 years. As a Palestinian-Syrian, her experiences of war and displacement left her with a profound sense of loss and disconnection. Her work with these powerful medicines, alongside therapy, meditation, yoga, and nature have been invaluable tools to help recover her connection to herself, her heritage, and the wider world.

As an artist and filmmaker, Leen is fascinated by the power of the stories we tell and the art of listening with full presence. Her personal journey, alongside her film work, have deepened her compassion for the human condition and commitment to help ease suffering on both personal and collective levels.

Leen brings a gentle and grounded presence to group settings. Guided by deep respect for these medicines, she feels honored to support others through their experiences by offering a safe, nonjudgmental space to help them reflect, process, and heal.
